Sloane Helicopters S.L., which is an agent for Sloane Helicopters Limited, is a Spanish company that provides marketing and support services and provides facilities, hangarage and personnel in addition to its marketing activities.
Son Bonet (N39 35.9 E002 42.2)
Son Bonet was Mallorca's original airport, opened in 1936, and has been in operation ever since. Located 5 miles north of the city of Palma it has great accessibility, with the motorway running alongside, a dedicated bus service and its own train station (Pont D'Inca Nou).
In 1964 Son Sant Joan (Palma International) Airport opened just 5 miles South East leaving Son Bonet as a dedicated General Aviation Aerodrome. Son Bonet is fully licensed VFR aerodrome with fire cover and fuel (Avgas & Jet A1). It has a 3000ft asphalt runway and apron.
It is perfect for training with the facilities it offers and year round weather conditions.
Office & Facilities
Sloane Helicopters S.L.'s office is in the original section of Son Bonet Aerodrome. It is fully air-conditioned for those long hot summers we have.
It consists of a main area & front desk, 2 briefing rooms, and Student room. The Student Room is fully equipped with all the reading materials, videos & training aids you need. It also has tea/coffee making facilities.
The Student Room also has a dedicated computer allowing you free internet access, email and further training materials.
The office is also WIFI enabled to allow our customers with laptops and PDA's to access their emails.
The Helicopters are kept in a hangar on the apron.

Jonny Greenall, Manager
Jonny has been flying for 15 years, first with the Air Cadets, in Chipmunks and Vigilant Gliders. He has lived in Mallorca since 1993 and learnt to fly the Robinson R22 & R44 with Sloane Helicopters Mallorca.
He then went onto complete his Commercial Helicopter Licence and Instructor Rating with Sloane Helicopters (at Sywell & Mallorca). Jonny also has his JAA Fixed wing licence.
Additionally, Jonny is the school's CAA Radiotelephony Examiner. As of 2008 Jonny is also a fully qualified CAA Flight Examiner. Jonny is also an Authorised EASA Examiner for the following countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Jonny holds ratings on the R22, R44 and MD500 and has over 3,500 hours helicopter flight time.
In 1999 Jonny was awarded a PhD in Mixology from the Oceano Institute.
Neal Spurrell, Pilot & Instructor
Neal learnt to fly helicopters with Sloane Helicopters in Mallorca in 2009, after obtaining his PPL (H) on the Robinson R44. Neal went on to hour build, and complete the Type Rating on the R22 both in Mallorca and Sywell. Upon successfully passing his CAA ATPL (H) Ground Exams in 2010 Neal completed his CPL (H) Training with Sloane Helicopters in Sywell.
In 2011 Neal worked for Sloane Helicopters in Mallorca as a Helicopter Charter and Sightseeing Pilot, and in early 2012 Neal completed his Flight Instructor Course with Sloane Helicopters.
Also – in 2001 and 2002 Neal Spurrell was the Cornwall Men’s Welly Wanging Champion obtaining a, yet to be beaten, record of 26.64 Yards.CONTACT NEAL
Jane Wynne, Operations Administrator
Jane Wynne joined Sloane Helicopters S.L. as the new Operations Administrator in November 2010.
Jane has lived in Mallorca for over 30 years, has worked for Thomson and also in the Yacht Charter industry before joining Sloane Helicopters S.L.
Jane, naturally, is fluent in both Spanish and English, but also Swahili.
Alastair Sutherland, CAA Examiner
Alastair has been flying for over 27 years and more than 12,000 hours. Alastair has also won the British Helicopter Championships over 5 times! Alastair is one of the highest timed Robinson pilots in Europe.
Alastair also flies Citation and Gulfstream Private Jets.
He has been flying in Mallorca since Sloane Helicopters inauguration in 1995 and is a CAA Examiner for Sloane Helicopters Mallorca.
Sloane Helicopters Limited
Sloane Helicopters has been in operation for over 40 years and has its head office in Sywell, Northampton. It is the UK and Eire distributor for AgustaWestland and Robinson helicopters.
In 1995 Sloane Helicopters opened a base in Mallorca and has operated from Son Bonet for over 19 years. Sloane Helicopters is fully approved by the CAA (Air Operators Certificate & Flight Training Organisation) and operates a flying school offering the EASA Private Pilots Licence and much more.
The Company also specialises in commercial charter and aerial photography. Sloane Helicopters entered into a commercial agreement with Sloane Helicopters S.L. to provide facilities, personnel and marketing support. However, all flights undertaken are under the control and management of Sloane Helicopters and in accordance with their approvals and terms.
